I had one show up in my game tonight, and he could basically field about 110% of what I could field (I ended up reloading that game and making sure he got assassinated). If you find out that someone is aiming for one of your titles, you have to assassinate that person ASAP. I'm finding that I'm simultaneously a huge fan of and terrified of the new mechanic where adventurers will raise armies and stake a claim on the map. Central Europe is essentially screwed (there's no way France or The HRE will be formed by 1067). My grandson (I'm still playing as Harald) is the heir to the Kingdom of Sweden, too, which means that my other option of making a subjugation claim on Denmark would allow for the formation of the Scandanavian Empire (and the reformation of the Norse Religion, allowing me to install myself as the equivalent to the Norse Pope-Emperor).

The Norse Subjugation/Conquest cassus belli are probably way too good for someone who has a clue how to play.

I've now got all of De Jure Norway, all but two counties in De Jure Ireland (Harald never did that!) 2/3rds of De Jure Scotland, and if Harald survives long enough, I might be able to make a push for subjugating England, giving me enough counties to form the Kingdom of England (and probably the English Empire). Inadvertently started as Harald Fairhair, and couldn't quite match his speed at Kingdom creation (I could've formed the Kingdom of Norway in 878 instead of 872, but waited until 884 to consolidate a bit more land). Bought Old Gods this week, had my first chance to play a real game tonight.
